Scalia’s Replacement. Who is right?

supreme-court-546279_640

Are the Democrats or the Republicans in the wrong on the appointing of Scalia’s replacement?

Democrats are 90% in the wrong and Republicans are 10%.

First the Republicans. They shouldn’t say, which it seems many have, that no successor should be nominated. They are wrong. They should say, “Send us someone we will approve and then we will do so. If you send us someone liberal then we won’t approve.”

The Democrats are wrong in saying that the Republicans are obstuctionists and should approve whomever is nominated.

Obama and the Democrats don’t understand this from the constitution, “…and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate…”. Well, I suppose they would if the roles were reversed.

If the Founders wanted whomever the President nominated to serve without intervention from the Senate, they wouldn’t have put that in the Constitution. Yeah, it’s that simple.

If Obama and the Democrats are serious about ensuring that the Supreme Court goes ahead soon, with a full bench then all they have to do is offer someone who will be acceptable to all involved instead of putting someone up as a pawn for political goals.

You are welcome.
